Kasumi recently paired with critically acclaimed hiphop artist Y-Love on “For My People,” the first track of their politically charged EP due out in 2012.
Since 2005 Y-Love, an African-American Jewish MC, has been making “global hip hop” - combining gritty social consciousness, ethereal scripture, and pounding rhythms. He has been featured on shows from Conan O’Brien to BBC World, and has worked with artists as varied as Lou Reed and Andy Milonakis
