HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUMMER
As part of The Cleveland Museum of Art’s Summer Solstice Party, Kasumi presents “Happy Birthday Summer,” an original hour-long looping videoart installation.  The massive projection will span across the museum’s historic 1916 façade from 9:30PM to 1AM on June 25.“Happy Birthday Summer” is composed of colorful fragments of eye-popping imagery that flow in uninterrupted cascades creating a polyphony of metaphysics, realism, pulp fiction, and Dadaist paradoxes.  “Happy Birthday Summer” mimics the currents of our unconscious thoughts where everything moves forward in uncanny directions towards unknown – and fascinating - realms. And keep an eye out for Kasumi’s works at these places during June:
— “MO-SO” screened at the Hamburg International Short Film Festival (June 7 – 13).
— “THE DROWNING” at “Parallels” the New Media Arts Festival at El Museo Cultural de Santa Fe from June 10 to 19.
— Featured Artist at Festival Sinsal on the island of San Simon, Spain, beginning June 25 including screenings of “SAIGAI,” “THE DROWNING,” “SEND,” and “SOUNDBOARD”
— “SOUNDBOARD,” “BREAKDOWN,” and others works at Fylkingen, Stockholm, Sweden, June 22.
— And Aardvark (executive produced by Kasumi) screened at the Brooklyn Film Festival and received a Certificate of Outstanding Achievement for the Best Original Score by “Fallen On Your Sword.”
